Ks3 Mathematics A Level 8 Answers

Hey everyone. I'm a Year 9, and I have already sat two of my KS3 Maths SATs papers. I have understood and remembered everything I've gone over at school (and beyond), and my A* at GCSE is pretty much set in stone.

However, I haven't done too well in my recent assessments, as I always tend to make silly mistakes. I have missed out on 8 marks, and I was wondering if I could still get an 8A. I'm sitting my third and final paper tomorrow. So far, I have completed the non-calculator and mental tests. With 81/90, I was wondering what score I would need to achieve the top national curriculum level.

Also, I only have about two glasses of water a day. Do you think this is the cause of my mistake making?

You don't need your SAT's. It's all for the self-confirmation for your teachers that they're doing something right.

Seriously, you need to chill out about SATS. Concentrate (in a few years time) on getting the best possible grades in your GCSEs and A Levels.

no one cares about SATs most people dont even have a clue wat they got, like me

if your A* at GCSE is set in stone, why bother about SATs?

I thought SATs were no more?

However, the only thing we can say is do your best, that's the best way to ensure success. Good luck.

I'm not trolling, I just want to know if I still have a chance of reaching my target.

I want to get an 8A so that I can be proud of myself. Maths has always been my strongest subject, so I want to be sure that I am capable of coping with A-Level Maths.

OMG SATS

Ruined my life. Got 8-7-7, and the school predicted me and targeted me A* for all my GCSE's. I got 1. Fail to them.

Worst thing is they had this scheme where you had to resit your mock if you got 1 grades below it... I got Bs, and resat most of them... EXACT SAME PAPER!! BIGGEST waste of time EVER.

You don't need an 8a. People who get 7s get A*s. If you're as good as you think you are then the SATS won't matter, it's not like they're going to put you on foundation tier if you get an 8b. The top national curriculum level is EP (exceptional performance), so even if you get 8a you won't get the top grade you can.

I thought that EP no longer existed, as of 2003?

Ah, I missed out 8 marks worth of questions on the calculator paper. :'( All hope is lost anyway.

EP still exists. Level 8 is equivalent to a B in GCSE standard and to be dropping marks there when you're all geared up for an early A* should make you rethink. SATS won't indicate how well you'll do at A-level either. I got a level 6 in my science SAT and I'm getting A*s in GCSE. SATS don't matter at all.

I see what you mean. The teachers don't teach you everything in the papers anyway, I had to learn some stuff (such as quadratic graphs) for myself. As long as I do get an 8B, I won't get moved down a set anyway. I kinda understand why everyone hates them now. :P

I got an A* in maths one year earlier than the average candidate even though I got a level 7 in my SATs. Oh and I thought SATs were abolished, I was the last year to do them...******* hell stop stressing it's your GCSEs and A levels that actually matter.
